Carlos Figarola, MD
Dr. Figarola is a Board Certified Psychiatrist. He is a graduate of Ross University School of Medicine and was trained at Cabrini Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Figarola practiced Psychiatry in New York City for ten years before relocating to New Jersey. He is affiliated with CentraState Medical Center and currently maintains a private practice in Freehold that focuses on providing personal, caring and expert treatment of psychiatric illnesses and intellectual disabilities. Dr. Figarola has extensive experience in Adult, Geriatric and Rehabilitation Psychiatry. He is also a native of Cuba and speaks fluent Spanish.
Denise Huntley, Psychiatric Nurse, RN
Denise has over 25 years experience as a regitered nurse in mental health settings, hospitals and nursing homes. She worked as a supervisor at Marlboro Psychiatric Hospital before closing, and during transition. She was also the Head Nurse at Monmouth County Correctional Institution for over two years. Denise has also worked in the ER at Raritan Bay Medical Center and at The University of Medicine and Denistry of New Jersey. Additionally, Denise holds ACLS, IV, Telemetry, CPR, and Conscious Sedation Certifications.
Kathleen Payne, Registered Clinical Dietician
Kathleen worked for 5 years as a dietician at North Princeton Developmental Center for the New Jersey Division of Human Services. She was responsible for patient nutritional assessment and care plan development and implementation. She was also responsible for menu development on campus (transition to group homes) with shopping lists, meeting daily nutritional needs and standards set by the State of New Jersey. She was an active member of all care conferences. Kathleen now consults with nursing homes, and with Ocean County Board of Health.
Gina Lupi, PT
Gina received her Bachelor's of Science in Physical Therapy from the University Of Delaware in 1987. From 1987 to 1991 Gina worked as a therapist for JFK/Johnson Rehabilitation Institute in Edison , NJ with rotations in Brain injury and neurological rehab, Acute care, cardiopulmonary PT , orthopaedics and Geriatrics. From 1991- 1994 Gina was the Rehabilitation Supervisor for Acute care service at JFK Medical Center in Edison. From 1994 to 2002, Gina was the Director of Geriatric Rehabilitation at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute overseeing the satellite long term care facilities including Edison Estates, Hartwyck at Cedar Brook, Hartwyck at Oak Tree , Roosevelt Care Center and The Central New Jersey Jewish Home for the Aged. In 1994 Gina received her Masters in Clinical Psychology and Education from Seton Hall University. Gina joined Tender Touch rehabilitation services in 2002 in the position of Director of Rehabilitation.
Bret Kirson, LCSW
Mr. Kirson practices as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker for both the Community YMCA and Raritan Bay Medical Center (Perth Amboy). Bret Kirson, a lifelong New Jersey resident, has strived to help improve the lives of the impoverished and underserved populations of Middlesex, Monmouth and Mercer counties. Bret has worked in variety of clinical settings such as partial hospital programs, inpatient and outpatient. He was also awarded assistantship through the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey's "Community Oriented Primary Care" program, where he collaborated with students of various disciplines, including medicine, dentistry and social work, to complete projects geared toward enhancing community awareness of public health issues.
Donna Marie Simon, MSW, LSW
Donna has worked as a School Social Worker with young adults with disabilities and the IEP process in Monmouth, Ocean and Middlesex schools. Her expertise include but are not limited to, safe placements, transition, dealing with challenging behaviors, adjustments, cognitive behavioral therapy with positive rewards and reinforcements, coping skills, education and training.Donna also works as a Family Advocate with a large network of families of children with disabilities.
Joan Kirson, MS- Special Education Teacher
Joan worked in a variety of special education settings mostly in a self contained classroom with communication impaired students. She has Certification in Elementary and Special Education in New Jersey and New York, Taught adult literacy in East Brunswick, NJ, Experienced in teaching reading using the Wilson method and other intervention strategies, Experienced in writing IEP's and developing and following through on behavioral plans (BIPS), Worked with behavioral therapists and the families of students and Mentored special education teachers.
Gavin Frangipane, Certified Theraputic Acivities Therapist
Gavin leads a group of activity staff working with nursing home residents. He plans and implements social and theraputic activities for residents in the behavioral health unit. Gavin assesses residents in the areas of functional capacity, motor development, social skill development (including social interaction skills), cognitive development, communication behavior, enhancement of play and recreation skills repertoire, and vocational competence.
