Erika Thomas, BA – Director of Day Habilitation

Erika holds a BA in Social Sciences and a minor in Criminology and Ethnic Studies from Colorado State University. She brings over a decade of experience to Friends of Cyrus and is passionate about helping adults with intellectual disabilities reach critical goals and accomplish life-long dreams.

Erika began her career as a case manager for adults in the criminal justice system. After a few years, she switched focus and joined a company dedicated to supporting the intellectually disabled. It didn’t take long for her to recognize that the field was a fantastic environment and opportunity to help others, and she knew she had found her professional path. Over the next eight years Erika worked as Residential Director in Denver. She eventually relocated to New Jersey to assist in the opening of a new adult day program, where she spent two additional years taking on progressive responsibilities.

Besides the day to day operations of running a day habilitation program, Erika most enjoys helping the individuals she supports with skills development, vocational training and employment opportunities.
